At code quest we turn ideas into products. This process starts when like-minded people form team/company, so-called startup. And you know what? I love startups. Actually I love startups so much that I spend free time thinking and dreaming about them. You think that it sounds crazy? May be, but I’m not alone. There are more people like me. Two weeks ago an event called Startup Weekend, which gathers the most talented and passionate people in neighbourhood, took place. No surprise - I was there. It was awesome!

Despite being the very first Startup Weekend in Poland - it was great and really well organised. After first stage 21 out of more than 30 projects began, teams were formed and started working hard to turn dreams into reality. They were not left alone, there were mentors with business and startup background hanging around helping teams to improve their business model, user experience and features.

During Startup Weekend together with my team I started working on EasyGoing, a mobile application which allows you to easily choose nearby location and arrange meeting with people you may find interesting. We put a lot of effort into proper application flow (which would be impossible without good advices from mentors) and finished all use cases. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to release working prototype, but it should be ready soon.

The big winner of Startup Weekend is CityRace.Me which is mobile game similar to Snake but with real people playing with their mobile phones. It takes advantage of geolocation to draw shapes on the city map. Yes, it sounds crazy, but I’m sure guys behind this project will soon make it playable and widely available.

I’m looking forward to taking part in next Startup Weekends as they’re very interesting and inspiring. I hope you will join one too, maybe together we will make our dreams come true!
